Polychrome Miners Figurine

This is a figurine of a pair of miners mady by Fuerstenberg in the early 20th century. They are quite famous for this series of figures and they are often left in the white but here we have a polychrome version which is nice. One miner is using a hammer to hit the metal piece the other miner is holding to break up the rocks. Looks like the guy sitting down has to trust the guy with the sledge hammer a whole lot! Both are well dressed and wearing the traditional hats. This model is not as common as some of the other ones and the painted version is very hard to find! Very well modeled and hand painted. The figure is in great condition with the handle of the hammer being reglued right inside his upper hand and it is impossible to spot unless you carefully look for it. Displays perfectly and it is sadly a normal issue on this figurine! I actually don't think I ahve ever seen one where that wasn't the case. The piece is 7.875 inches tall, 7.375 inches wide and 4 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue script F. mark used from 1906 until 1918.
