Pascha Weitsch Cup & Saucer

This is a rare cup and saucer made by Fuerstenberg in about 1763. It is so special because Pascha Weitsch painted it. He is regarded as the best miniature painter ever. The piece was looked at by the curator (Frau von Metternich) of the Fuerstenberg museum at the factory in Germany. Amazing detail which is extremely hard to show in pictures. The set is in superb condition with minimal spot of enamel loss on the saucer. The cup is 2 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 5.25 inches in diameter. Both are marked with a puce 'Gegend bei Densdorf' as well as the underglaze blue script F mark. The cup has an impressed S80 and the saucer S20. Not sure about the 8 in 80.
