Oval Scenic Platter

This is a superb oval platter / serving dish made by Fuerstenberg around 1760. The piece is hand painted with a very nice scene in the center as well as four small single flowers along the edge of the well with a gold trim around the scene. The rim has four cartouches with floral designs to them surrounded by a nice gold trim on a relief design to the paste. Four more large single flowers in between the cartouches and a simple gold trim to the edge. The scene includes a windmill which is super cool as well as two people and a buidling in a landscape surrounding. Very good quality scene! The platter is marked with the script letter F in under glaze blue in the center underneath as well as an impressed letter N in a circle and another impressed mark as shown plus an impressed number 2. The dish is in great condition with a little wear mainly to the gilding along the edge and in a few spots of the gold line around the scene. A large peice of the foot ring has been lost as shown but it does not affect the piece and it displays superbly! The plate is 2.125 inches tall and 12.375 inches wide and 9.5 inches from front to back. Please email me for more information or photos.
