Hussar on Horse Figurine #2

This is a very rare figurine of a hussar soldier on a horse mady by Fuerstenberg in about 1760. A very well modeled figure that is perfectly hand painted. Only very few examples are known of this model! The hussar is nicely dressed with one hand in the air while the other is on the back side of the horse's neck. That hand would have been holding the reigns which were not made of porcelain and are long gone. The horse looks like it is ready to jump over an obstactle suring battle onto a typical base for this maker during this period. The horse's face is superbly painted as it the back end with the spots. The figurine is 9.625 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 9.5 inches long. It is marked underneath with the blue crossed swords mark they used quite a bit during this time before it not being allowed anymore later in the 18th century. The piece is in decent condition for what it is but the upper hand is damaged and missing five of the fingers for the most part after it was already previously restored, the tail was off at the base and restored back on, the tip to the back right side of the horse's blanket is chipped, his saber is missing the section between the handle and the tip for the most part, the tip of his right foot and part of the reign is missing, both front legs are in bad shape after having been restored previously and both back legs are broken as well though the horse was never off the base, his head was broken through the neck and reglued and there is some flat chipping to a spot in the front center of the base. It sounds worse than it is and the piece still displays nicely but could definitely be improved by a good restorer. The rarity makes up for the issues I think!
