Huge 18thC Floral Vase

This is a huge vase made by Furstenberg in the 18th century around 1765. It's the biggest piece I have seen by them and it looks amazing! The lid has two really nice hand painted floral arrangements to it as well as two butterflies with a bit of a relief design to the center edge with gold trim. The finial has a puce and turquoise design to it that comes down like arcanthus leaves onto the top part of the lid. Fuerstenberg flowers are in my view the most amazing ones in the porcelain world especially from this period. Just look at the detail and colors!! The main body also has two large floral arrngements to it as well as four butteflies / bugs. A leaf design to the top edge in the same color scheme as the finial of the lid and arcanthus type leaves coming from the bottom into the center of the vase also in the same colors. The foot of the vase is attached to the main body and not one piece. That is normal. It has two floral arrngements as well as two bugs / butterflies to it. A bit of gold trim as well. Nice shape with the square base and the round foot. The vase is in good condition. Amamzingly the lid jsut has a touch of gold wear and the same goes for the foot. The main body looks amazing but those brass lion finials while very nice and detailed and quite old themselves are not original to the piece. I found this shape on a more modern piece and it would ahve originally had two goat / ram head handles. They were likely so damaged that they jsut ground them off and attached these brass lion handles. Honestly it looks amazing and given the age one can excuse that I think! The entire piece is 22.75 inches tall with a diameter of about 8.5 inches. Large and heavy and stuning! Vases were the most important product of Fuerstenberg during this period and this piece shows us why! The lid is marked with the under glaze blue F mark as shown on the outside of the ring that fits into the top opening and the foot is marked on the bottom edge in a space where the gold trim is as hsown.
