Monkey Band Figurine

This is a figurine of a horn player from the monkey band made by Fuerstenberg in the 18th century. A very well executed figurine of a popular topic and quite the typical decoration for Fürstenberg around this time. The monkey is wearing a hat, pants and a coat. He is holding the instrument with his left hand. The figure is 6 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and 2.25 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the crossed swords mark used by them before Meissen stopped that practise. The piece is in good condition with part of the thing tube of the horn restored as well as the tips of that hand, the sleeve tips of the right arm and a small chip to the tip of the left coat corner in the back, a chip to the tips of the right foot and the base underneath. He still displays very well really and is a fun piece! Please email me for more information or photos.
