18th Century Couple

This is a figurine of a couple or lovers made by Fürstenberg in the 18th century (about 1780). They are superbly handpainted and modeled and - as is often the case - after a Meissen example. Typical 18th century colors and decoration. Just very elegant and not overbearing like some of the new pieces. A bit erotic really as they are close to a kiss with her hand by his face and his on her chest. The figurine is in superb condition with her outstretched foot being perfectly restored. You cannot tell at all it was done plus three three tiny paint flakes off the orange cloth. The figurine is marked with the crossed swords mark used by Fuerstenberg to make people think it was made by Meissen. As this is a Meissen model as well it might have worked quite well and still could unless you really know your stuff. The figurine is about 6 inches tall, 5.25 iches wide and 3.5 inches deep. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $1749
