Biedermeier Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a nice cupand saucer set made by Fuerstenberg during the Biedermeier period around the early 19th century. The set has a very typical shape to it for this period and maker - very simple yet also very elegant. It is called Campanerform. A very sleek shape. The saucer has a scene in the center including a monument in a landscape surrounding and a bit of gold trim to the edge. The cup has a more elaborate scene to it including an altar for offerings with a burning flame in the center in a landscape surrounding. The column states: Hohe Achtung bringt dies schwache Opfer. It means something along these lines: High esteem bringt this small offering. The cup has a little gold trim to the top and bottom edge as well as the handle. The cup is just over 2.75 inches tall with the handle and has a diameter of just under 2.75 inches. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall with a diameter of 5 inches. The set is in nice condition with just some wear to the gilding mainly around the edge of the saucer and a small chip to the inside foot underneath the saucer as shown. Both are marked with the under glaze blue script F mark as well as some incised / impressed marks and a blue 19 under the cup as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.
