Atlas Design Sugar Dish

This is a small lidded sugar dish made by Fuerstenberg in the 18th century. It is hand painted with a design called the Atlas design which was based on a woven fabric pattern. It is very rare to find this pattern by them and is just stunning. The multi colored bands go all around the top and bottom part with a matching band around the lid. Nice floral finial to the lid and just a bit of gold trim makes this one elegant piece! The pot is marked with the under glaze blue F mark underneath as well as some impressed marks normal on their wares during this period. The pot including the lid is 4.5 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. The pot is in superb condition with some very very minor wear to the gilding around the top edge. The lid also has some very minor wear to the gilding along the edge and some small chips along the edge as shown. The finial has a firing crack to the base on one side but was never off and a few chips to the petals. It displays beautifully! Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $499
