Grand Duke & Duchess Plate

This is an interesting plate hand painted with the red and gold cypher / monogram of the Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich and Grand Duchess Elisabeth beneath an Imperial crown. He was the fifth son of Tsar / Emperor Alexander II of Russia and she was a German princess of the House of Hesse-Darmstadt who married the Grand Duke. The superb plate was made by Escalier de Cristal of Paris and is marked as such. It has a really beautiful turquoise rim with gold trim on the edge and also the edge of the well and the cyphers / monograms in the center. The detail to the cypher and crown are top and the red and gold combination is just stunning! The plate is in great condition with some wear to the turquoise near the well as shown and a chip to the foot ring also shown. It displays perfectly and is not something you will find again anytime soon if ever. The piece is marked with their red mark as shown as well as an incised line near the foot ring. The plate is 8.625 inches in diameter and 0.75 inches tall. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
