White & Gold Lid

This is a lid made in France in the 18th century and probably for a sugar bowl / dish. Made of soft paste and hand painted with a nice gold trim all around the rim thick enough to feel it. The finial is a branch with its leaves and some berries. The lid could very well have been made by Sevres but lacking the usual hole for hanging in the kiln I am not sure. Could be any of the better French makers using soft paste in the 18th century. The lid is in perfect condition with just some firing flaws to the edge of the underside "foot" as shown and a tiny spot where the glaze is missing on the underside. Could be the hole for hanging but it is not deep enough. Unmarked which is very normal when you just have a lid. The piece is about 2 inches tall not including the foot and has a diameter of 4.5 inches. The outer diameter of the underside ring that would fit into the pot is 4.125 inches.
