Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich Cup

This is an interesting cup and saucer with the cyper / monogram of Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich on it. He was the 6th youngest child of Tsar Alexander II of Russia and his first wife Empress Maria Alexandrovna . He lived in exile in Paris for quite a while during the alte 19th / early 20th century. I ahve seen porcelain like this advertised as unmarked St. Petersburg but I believe it was made by Escalier de Cristal of Paris which makes a lot more sense. While I could not find another piece like mine this maker also made piece for other Imperial members of the Russian court like the Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich and his wife Grand Duchess Elisabeth and the Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna so it stands to reason they also made one for him. The cup and saucer are decorated with a superb gold trim as shown and it has his cypher including the crown . A stunning set that is in perfect condition. Both pieces are unmarked which wouldn't be unheard of from Paris makers but these would usually have the red Escalier de Cristal Paris mark. The saucer is 4.75 inches in diameter and 0.75 inches tall. The cup is 2.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.25 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
