Faience Lady with Book

This is a faience figurine of a lady reading a book made by one of the French faience makers in the 18th century. It is handpainted very simply and elegantly and reminds me a lot of Ludwigsburg figurines in the porcelain world. The figure has good detail as can be expected from a quality maker of this period. The piece is in good condition but the head seems to have been off as was the right arm but the restoration is so superb it is very hard to even figure out what exactly was wrong. Her right thumb is a bit odd shaped but might be original that way. Also two mostly paint chips to the book and one to the back of her cloth. Two very shallow small chips to the base underneath. It is marked with a crossed swords type mark used often to copy Meissen. Also two incised lines. The figurine is 7.625 inches tall, 2.75 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep.
