3-Tiered Cornflowers Serving Dish

This is a really neat three tired serving dish / tazza made in France in the late 18th or early 19th century. Blue cornflowers were a favorite of Marie Antoinette and thus became very popular during this time period. The paste of this piece is really nice and white quite typical of French makers of the Paris region during this period . Definitely one of the better makers but without a mark I cannot attribute it to any one specific maker! I have never come across a serving dish with this decoration before so it was a must have! It consists of three plates each getting bigger as you go down with little columns in between, a nice base and a handle to the top. Gold trim to the edges and the handle. Each piece except the handle is hand painted with some blue corn flowers scattered all around. The dish is great condition with a touch of wear to the gilding which one would expect after 200 plus years and a chip to the udnerside edge of the largest plate as shown from both the udnerside and the side view. The piece is not marked underneath but is definitely French from this period! It is about 14.5 inches tall with the top plate having a diameter of 5.25 inches, the middle one of 6.5 inches and the bottom one of 9.25 inches. The piece is held together by a metal rod from the bottom that screws into the handle. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
