Biscuit Mars Figurine

This is a figurine made in France in the late 18th century possbily by Dihl & Guerhard or Locre / Rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi . The figurine is made of unglazed or biscuit porcelain and of the god Mars in his uniform pulling his swords from the sheath. Looks very much like a Roman centurion . The figure is very well modeled and since there is no glaze to obscure the detail it is finer than on glazed porcelain. The piece is not marked underneath which makes it hard to determine the exact maker but it is definitely French from this time period. The figurine is in great condition but the end of the swqord/sheath is broken off as shown. Some manufacturing flaws to the paste but all in all in great shape! The figure is 6.75 inches tall and the base has a diameter of just over 2 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
