Biscuit Couple Figurine

This is a biscuit or unglazed porcelain figurine made by Mennecy in the 18th century. It is a figurine of a lady and gentleman on a nice rockwork base. He is playing the flute while she is kneeling on a rock and holding his hat. Very typical 18th century French figurine in general and quite well modelled. The figurine displays very well but has a lot of flaws once your really get very close and inspect it. I do believe both figures were off the base at some point, she has lots a finger and something she was holding in her right hand and he left hand holding the hat was broken off along with his hat. His flute has the end chipped off. The various flowers and bows adorning the figures are also chipped. But like I said the piece displays very well and you need to get very close to see any of this. The figurine is marked underneath with the rare script DV mark used by them. The piece is 7 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 2.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
