Superb Pearlware Cup & Saucer

This is a superb Pearlware cup and saucer most likely made in the Staffordshire region of England and certainly in the late 18th century. It is of very high quality - much nicer than most examples I have seen over the years being decorated with a handpainted fancy floral decoration as well as a nice pink trim to the rims. The set looks quite elegant in person and resembles porcelain which it was meant to imitate quite nicely and better than the usual examples. The set is in great condition with four very minor munchers on the top rim of the cup - more glaze flaws than anything else. Also a manufacturing flaw on the inside of the bowl but this is under the glaze and not real issue. The saucer also has 4 tiny rim issues just as minor as those of the cup and pretty much meaningless. The set displays superbly! Neither piece is marked but that is normal for this type of item during this period. There is an old paper label underneath. The cup is 1.875 inches tall and has a diameter of 3.25 inches and the saucer is 1.25 inches tall and has a diameter of 5 inches. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $299
