Pair of Cobalt Blue & Floral Candlesticks

This is a pair of superb candlesticks made in England in the early 19th century possibly by Coalport , Copeland , Ridgways , Rockingham and any of these types of makers of this period. The candleholders have a nice shape to them with two large floral arrangements on each as well as some smaller flowers surrounded by a nice gold trim but the best part is the checkered cobalt blue ground color between the floral panels though it is more pronounced in the pictures than in real life. Just a stunning set! The pair is in great condition with some wear to the gold trim as shown. No chips, repairs, etc. Some crazing to the underside as shown and a bit of flaking to the enamels of the yellow flowers of the column part. The sticks are 5.875 inches tall with the bottom part having a diameter of 4 inches. The hole in the top for the candle is 0.875 inches in diameter and tapers inwards a bit towards the bottom. Neither piece is marked which is fairly normal. Truly a fun pair and quite elegant! Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $749
