King's Rose Pearlware Cup & Saucer

This is a cute teabowl and saucer set made of pearlware in England in the 18th century. I normally stick more to porcelain but every once in a while a non porcelain piece sneaks in. This was the case with the cup & saucer which is very pleasant to look at! The set is hand painted with some colorful flowers and a fancy red and blue trim design along the rim. I think this type of decoration is called King's rose but not entirely sure. The set is of very nice quality and in good condition. There is some flaking to the blue color in places as shown and a few manufacturing flaws from when it was made fairly typical to this type of ware! Also some crazing to the glaze in places but when on display this is not obvious at all. The glaze has a bluish tint to it from which the material gets its name. Otherwsie it is more or less the same as creamware. The saucer is 1.375 inches tall with a diameter of 5.25 inches. The tea bowl is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 3.375 inches. Unmarked as is the norm on this type of ware. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $229
