Chalkware Iceskater Figurine

This is an original period chalkware figurine made in the Staffordshire region in the last part of the 18th century or early 19th century. It is nicely modeled as an ice skater with his cape (apparently they liked playing superman even before he was known as superman) and is painted well in the typical fashion of the period. If it was painted a little better one could confuse it with a Staffordshire porcelain piece! Same design and base. Not sure who exactly made this piece since it is not my expertise whatsoever but he is very well done and quite old. The figurine is about 7.75 inches tall and the base is 2.625 inches on the sides. He is in great condition with some flaking to the paint mostly to the base and most of that is in the back so he displays quite well. Sadly the piece is not marked but I doubt they ever were.
