Cat on Pillow

This is a great little figurine of a cat sitting on a pillow certainly made in England and in the early 19th century. Probably by Derby since they did make some small figures as well and since it is marked with an incised No. (the rest is chipped). The figure is nicely modeled with the pillow having four tassles and the face painted superbly. The back of the cat is slightly grey and the top of the pillow is green and the sides have some gold highlights. The piece is in great condition with the ears being chipped - the right one more than the left and the edge / underside has a chip as well as shown. A bit of gold wear. It displays superbly. It is marked as mentioned with a partial incised No. as well as some red letters and numbers which are more likely a collector's label rather than from the actual maker. The figurine is just under 1.75 inches tall with the base being just over 1.25 inches square. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
