Sarreguemines Cup & Saucer

This is an interesting cup and saucer made at the Sarreguemines - Utzschneider factory in France in the 1820s. It was made to imitate the more famous Wedgwood black Jasperware and is decorated with the four seasons in white relief on black ground all around the cup. The saucer has a white relief design on black ground around the well. There is a thin raised ring around the well that almost acts like a trembleuse for the cup. Really a nice looking set and it even has the handle shape typical of English piece called London shape around this time period. The set is in great condition with a few minor manufacturing flaws but as ice as they come. No chips, repairs, etc. The cup is just over 2.25 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.125 inches tall with a diameter of 6 inches. So a nice sized cup and saucer set. The set is marked underneath with an impressed F A 1 as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
