Relief Scene Tankard

This is a fun scenic stein / tankard made most likely in the Dresden area of Germany in the late 19th century in the style of the Doccia / Richard Ginori pieces but with different types of designs and colors. A perfect piece to have your evening beer out of. I love using these pieces for every day use for non alcoholic drinks as it makes sure I drink enough water. Once I park my butt on the couch for a movie or show I hate getting up for more so the size is perfect :) The mug has a superb battle relief scene all around the main body all hand painted to perfection and very detailed with a puce and gold trim to the bottom edge. This piece comes with its original lid with a matching trim and a fun lion finial. The figural handle is in the shape of an elephant head with the trunk forming the handle which is just plain fun! The piece is marked with the under glaze blue letter N under a crown mark as shown as well as a blue number 6 (I think). The cup alone is about 5.875 and it has a bottom diameter of 3.75 inches. The lid adds about another 2.25 inches in height. The tankard and lid are in superb condition with just a firing flaw just above the handle as shown. It doesn't go deep or to the edge so it makes little difference and won't grow. Two spots of where the puce paint has flaked. Not big and they blend into the busy design. Ready for you to ahve your evening drink. Please email me for more information or photos.
