Porcelain Handled Seal

This is a rare seal made in the Dresden area of Germany in the late 19th or early 20th century. This would have been used to apply your mark to the wax that sealed your letters! The handle is made of porcelain that has a nice shape to it with some relief details, gold highlights and lots of hand painted polychrome flowers. The metal seal is attached to the bottom and appears to be brass. It is not engraved which I think is better because you can give it your own personalized seal. A monogramm or some sort of cool design whatever your imagination can come up with! Not something you come across often - I ahve only ever seen one other porcelain handled piece before. It is in perfect condition with just some super minor wear to a spot or two on the gilding. The brass is oxidized a bit but would shine right up with a bit of polishing if one wanted. The piece is not marked or should be say not visibly marked but it was definitely made in the Dresden area of Germany during this period! The entire piece is 3.5 inches long and the metal bottom has a diameter of 0.75 inches. A neat piece of porcelain! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
