Dresden Oil Lamp

This is a porcelain oil lamp with a glass shade made by Donath & Co. They were a decorating studio in the Dresden style founded in 1872 and awarded many prizes over the years. This lamp dates to around 1880 and is in superb condition. The middle part unscrews from the bottom to be able to fill it with oil. Quite simple! The cloth wick might need replacing but that is it.The porcelain bottom part is handpainted with an all around scene including two couples - one on either side. Nice gold trim on the bottom part with some relief design. A very decorative lamp. It is 11.37 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter at the widest point. The base is marked underneath with a crown over the word Dresden and number 19215. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
