Devilled Eggs Serving Dish

This is a superb serving dish made for devilled eggs. According to my mark book the crossed lines and H mark was used by a company called Huettensteinach but that makes no sense here since it has Dresden underneath and that company was based in Thuringia. I think Heufel is a much more likely maker of this dish and they were based in the Dresden area of Germany. Heufel & Co. who operated a decorating studio in the early 20th century. Either way the dish is jsut a fun piece to look at. It has six wells for the egg halfs to be placed in which are all hand painted with a nice floral arrangements with a riased dot trim around the edges highlighted with gilding. There are single small floweres in between the wells and the edge has a fancy scroll design to it highlighted with more fancy gilding. Nice fancy handle to the center of the back edge. The dish is in great condition with some wear to the gilding mainly along the edge but it displays very nicely. It is 2.25 inches tall including the handle, 8.625 inches wide and 5.375 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the H over the two crossed lines with the word Dresden in script underneath as well as a painter's mark as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
