Dresden Bird Scene Box

This is a superb good sized scenic box made more than likely by a Dresden area maker in the later 19th century or early 20th century. It is square in shape and has a large scene to the top of some chicken in front of a stone column in a landscape surrounding. A fun turquoise ground and trim all around the scene with a neat design over that and a gold trim towards the scene. The front side and back side of the main body also have a bird scene to it with the same trim around them and each side has a floral arrangement to it with more of the same trim. All hand painted very nicely!. The inside of the box has scattered single flowers all over it and the mounts are more than likely brass have have a decorative shell design to the front. The underside of the box is not decorated nor is it marked. The box closes nicely and stays shut. It is in great condition with just some oxidation to the mounts. Looks great and is big enough to be able to use it for all sorts of things. Someone added soft pads to the bottom to it as to not scratch the furniture! The box is 2.5 inches tall and 4 inches on all sides. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $249
