Amazing Cobalt Blue, Gold & Scenic Hand Mirror

This is a really superb hand mirror with the main body made of porcelain hand painted most likely in the Dresden area of Germany and from around the late 19th century. Lamm or Wehsner come to mind but it could be another one of the makers from this region. Part of a vanity set I assume. The porcelain is hand painted with a superb cobalt blue ground with lots of gilding to it with raised highlights but the best part is the Watteau style scene of a couple in a landscape surrounding. Hand painted very nicely. The cobalt blue and gold combo does not get any better in the world of porcelain and the detail here is top notch! Never seen a better one. The porcelain part is attached to the bevelled glass mirror with the seam hidden by a nice brass (I think) decorative trim. The piece is in good condition with a small spot of wear on the gold design on the handle on the mirror side of the piece as shown. Very minor issue. The mirror has lots of issues with the silver coming off and oxidizing in places but that can be fairly easily replaced. The brass trim has an area of green oxidation which can be polished and there is space between the brass seam and the porcelain but that would be addressed if the mirrorpart was to be replaced. No visible maker's mark. Monogramm in gold which I think is ELA on the handle. The mirror is 10.5 inches long and the round top part is 6.75 inches in diameter including the porcelain. The mirror itself is about 5.25 inches in diameter. A really nice piece and not something one sees often at all especially this nicely done. I also own the matching smaller and larger different style brush as well as a hair brush which will also be listed. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
