Doccia White Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Doccia in the late 18th to early 19th century. This is what most people refer to as Capodimonte with the mythological figures in relief. The saucer is decorated with scroll work and garlands. All this is done in relief and is very detailed. It is in great condition with some manufacturing flaws like firing cracks, black spots, inclusions and a glazed over small rim chip. The handle is supposed to simulate coral and was used during the same time the thin branch handle was used. The cup is marked with the crown over N mark but the saucer is unmarked. It is fairly rare for these pieces to ever be marked. The cup stands 2.875 inches tall and 2.75 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.75 inches tall and 5.625 inches in diameter.
