Tulipano Cache Pot

This is an early flower pot / jadiniere / cache pot / wine cooler made by Doccia in the 18th century around the 1760s. The piece is hand painted with a really nice floral design called Tulipano that is quite typical for Doccia! There is a large floral design to the front and back with a smaller floral arrangement to each side under the handles. Each handle has a puce and gold trim to it and the pot has a gold ring around the rim. The flowers are super colorful and look stunning. This is probably a very early example since the colors and glaze are thick and have run a bit towards the bottom of the different colored parts so they are thicker there than on the top. Not enough to have run out of where the color should be though. The tin glaze has a bluish tint in the thicker areas. The main body sits on thee feet. This is a new favorite of mine as it looks amazing when on display! It originally probably had a lid and was used as a fruit cooler but that is long gone. The piece is in superb condition with a few small glaze nibbles on the top edge and bottom that are not obvious at all and one stable hairline by one of the handles as shown. Nothing bad and it's really tight and even hard to feel with your finger nail so it won't go anywhere. Barely shows on the outside since it is right where the handle is. The pot is not marked which is normal. Some orange numbers underneath that were later applied and come off. The piece is 7.375 inches tall and 7.875 inches in diameter qith the handles sticking out another half inch. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
