Doccia Scenic Plaque

This is a superb porcelain plaque made by Doccia in the 18th century. An amazing piece with a scene in the center of a cherub riding a fish with a small sailboat in the background as well as some mountains. The scene is very detailed and the colors are the usual bright and lively once used by Doccia. The "frame" (it is all one piece of porcelain so tehre is no real frame) is painted in black with gold bands on either side and four shell like designs painted in pink shades. There are very few plaques that have survived by Doccia and this is a stunning example of their work! It is in superb condition with a small shallow chip to the back only on the right side of the hanging hole on top as shown. Doesn't show when on display! The piece is only marked with an incised Z but that is normal for Doccia. The piece is 0.5 inches thick, 7 inches tall and 5.25 inches wide. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
