Lidded Relief Scene Cup #3

This is a lidded cup & saucer made by Doccia / Ginori in the mid 19th century. Probably a hot chocolate cup. The cup is decorated with biblical or mythological scenes in relief all around that are hand painted very nicely. It has a red coral branch handle to either side. The saucer has the usual really neat relief design with swags of relief flowers in between. The lid also has the raised figures to it with a gold rim and has a figurine serving as the finial. The set is in great condition with some minor wear to the gilding and a small chip to the inside foot ring of the saucer. They display perfectly! A very nice piece plus the lidded pieces are very hard to find. The set is marked with the common crown over N mark (faintly on the cup) copied so often by other makers from this original as well as an incised 7 under the cup. The cup is 3 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The lid has a diameter of 3.125 inches and is about 2 inches tall. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.75 inches in diameter. I have another cup as well as a pot, creamer and sugar dish from this set on the site. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
