Doccia Lady Candleholder #2

This is a ssecond superb figural candlestick made by Doccia in the 18th century. It is from a set of four depicting the four seasons two being male and two being female. This one is spring I guess. The piece is modeled as a female figure holding up a horn of plenty looking item in his left hand which has the candleholder on top of it. She has a little female putto by her left side which is holding a flower. The base is nicely shaped with some really bright colors on it typical of Doccia. The piece displays superbly but there is some restoration present which is normal on these pieces. The putto's right arm is restored and the lady's left arm is restored as well as the horn of plenty in that area. There is a break arcross that same area which was reglued. Two tiny nibbles to the base! The candleholder part is attached with filler but I think that is original to make it straight since otherwise it would have been quite crooked! All in all she displays nicely and is a rare example of this maker! The piece is unmarked underneath which is very common. It is 11.375 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep.
