Doccia / Ginori Scenic Urn / Vase #1

This is a fun urn / vase made by Doccia / Richard Ginori in the 19th century. The urn has a nice shape to it with the flared top, two handles and nice base. Superbly decorated with a wrap around relief scene that is hand painted as well as some colorful designs to the top rim, the part below the scene as well as the base. The handles are in the shape of snakes with the ends being the heads. Lots of nice detail with some added gold trim. The colors are quite typical and it is very elegant even though there is lots going on with this piece. Hard to find the real Doccia / Ginori pieces! The vase is in excellent condition with a tiny paint flake to a corner of the base as well as a shallow firing crack to one of the ladies of the relief decoration from the making. The piece is marked underneath with the N under a crown as well as an incised 10 along the foot of the base as shown. The piece is 8.25 inches tall and 5.75 inches in diameter. I have a matching second piece on the site as well. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $649
