Doccia / Ginori Fully Gilded Demitasse Cup & Saucer

This is a great demitasse cup and sacuer set made by Doccia / Richard Ginori in the second half of the 19th century. One rarely sees these fully gilded sets! The cup has the typical raised relief decoration of mythical / biblical theme on it that is hand painted as well as the harder to find very delicate intertwined branch handle. The saucer has the floral garlands held up by scroll designs typical for this maker but what is unusual is that the areas that would normally be white are in this case completely gilded which looks quite elegant. The set is in superb condition with just a touch of use marks to the gilding which is to be expected. The cup and saucer are both marked underneath with an under glaze blue N under a crown as shown. The cup is just over 2.125 inches tall and about 2.25 inches in diameter. The saucer is 0.75 inches tall and 4.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
