Doccia Fun Figural & Scenic Pitcher

This is a fun figural and scenic pitcher made by Doccia / Richard Ginori in the 19th century. I have not seen this shape before and it is just stunning. The main body is similar to their vases with the typical flower garland and putti relief design to the top part and the biblical / mythological relief scene all around the center as shown. These are always fun to look at and are hand painted superbly. The foot has a typical colorful relief leaf designto it as shown but the best part is the top of this pitcher. It has a thin long elaborate spout with gilded detail with a ram's head to the back of it and a bearded creature forming the handle. The hat is the top part and his beard parts and form the main handle. Just fun! Lots of nice detail all over with this piece! The colors are quite typical and it is very elegant even though there is lots going on. Hard to find the real Doccia / Ginori pieces! The pitcher is in great condition with some very minor gold wear and one of the beard handle part has a stress line right where it meets the main body. Perfectly stable and the other side is fine so it's not an issue. Can only been seen when you really look for it. The piece is not marked underneath which is not unusual but the quality, design and porcelain itself all give it away as a Doccia piece. The piece is 13 inches tall, 5.75 inches from spout tip to handle and about 4.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
