Doccia Relief Scene Cup #1

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Doccia / Ginori in the late 18th or early 19th century. The cup is decorated with biblical or mythological scenes in relief all around that are handpainted very nicely. The saucer is decorated with floral garlands held by angels. Nice gold trim to the rims and the center of the saucer. The set is in perfect condition. The cup is marked with an incised X while the saucer has a 3 or something like that underneath. This is the original maker of this style that was so often copied later in Dresden, etc. and those examples one sees much more often! The cup is just under 2 inches tall and about 2.875 inches in diameter (it is a bit oval from firing!). The saucer is 0.625 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter.
