Doccia Blanc de Chine Cherub Figurine

This is a nice figurine made by Doccia in the mid to later 19th century. Left in the white to show off all that crisp modeling detail. White wares were more appreciated than their painted counterparts and more expensive since one could not cover up flaws with paint. The figure here is of a pair of cherubs with one sitting down and leaning on a bird cage while the other is standing over her and holding a bird in his hand. A wheat sheaf on the ground and a tree trunk holding up the bird cage. The piece is in amazing with just a firing crack or two and a couple of small brown firing spots from when it was made in locations that are not visible when on display. All in all as nice as one could hope for from this period. The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue N under a crown mark as shown. The piece is 5.875 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
