Doccia Art Figurine

This is an superb figurine made by Doccia in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is of a lady in the center of the colorful base wearing blue robes while holding a paint palette in her left hand with a putto sitting on the base in front of her and another standing next to her. Probably representing the art . The base is superb with the top looking like faux marble and the sides having the typical colorful scrolls one expects from Doccia of this period. The piece is amazingly well modeled and painted! These pieces are always so cheery. The figure is in good display condition but has issues - her right arm was broken above the elbow, the corner of the painter's palette is repaired, the standing putto was broken off the base and has its legs painted over completely to hide whatever damage there might be and he has damage to both his index fingers plus a minor to the blue sachel of her robes as shown. A firing crack to the udnerside of the base only. In good shape for the age and a hard find to say the least. The piece is marked underneath with an under glaze blue N under a crown. The figure is 7.875 inches tall, 5.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
