Doccia Puce Scenic Plate #2

This is a rare scenic plate made by Doccia / Ginori in about 1770. It is hand painted with detailed landscape scene in puce in the center, a gold leaf garland around the well and a blue and gold trim around the edge. A very typical design for this maker and very elegant. The scene is of very nice quality with lots of detail to it. The plate is in about as good a condition as you will ever find with very minimal wear to the gilding. It is unmarked except for some sort of incised mark - possibly a letter C - in the center of the udnerside. It is very common for Doccia items not to be marked. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
