Gold/White Cat on Pillow

This is a great little figurine of a cat sitting on a pillow made by Derby in the late 18th or early 19th century. A really cute piece with the face of the cat hand painted and the edge and tassles of the pillow gilded. The figure is nicely modeled and painted jsut enough to make it a very elegant peice. The piece is in great condition with the tiniest of nibbles to one ear and the other ear has had a perfect restoration done to it. Invisible! Some wear to the gilding around the pillow. It is unmarked except for an incised No. 77 and some other incised mark but that is normal for Derby around this period. The figurine is 2.375 inches tall with the base being 1.625 inches square.
