Unusual Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is an unusual cup and saucer made by Derby in the early 19th century. Both pieces are handpainted with a funred, turquoise and gold trim, some cute bugs and a scene in the center surrounded by gold trim. The shape of the cup is rather unsual as are the bugs but the scene is of superb quality and might be by one of their big shot painter's though I am not familiar enough with them to be able to tell with any sort of certainty. Maybe someone can help with that. The set is in good condition with some black peppering which would have happened during one of the last firings and a hairline to the cup right through the scene. Doesn't take away from the look but it's there. It looks to be stable which at least helps. Both pieces are marked with the red D mark with a number 48 underneath as well as a red 18. Not sure of their meaning except possibly a pattern or painter's number. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. The cup is just over 2 inches tall and 3.375 inches in diameter.
