Large 4 Seasons Figurine

This is a figurine of a lady next to a sheath of wheat made by Derby in the late 18th century or very early 19th century. Emblematic of one of the four seasons figurines - summer in this case. The lady is very well modeled and quite beautifully painted especially the flowers on her dress! She is wearing a nice dress while standing barefoot on a round base that has some greenery to it and a gold trim around the edge. The wheat is next to her and there is a small tree trunk to the back with a few leaves on it. The figure displays superbly but there is a bit of damage to the wheat and a leaf in the back as well. Nothing that takes away from the piece at all! She is unmarked underneath except for some incised letters but that's common for this maker during this period and it does ahve the characteristic three light patchmarks. The figurine is 10.25 inches tall with a base diameter of 4 inches wide so a very nice size for a figurine! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
