Hairdresser & Client Figurine

This is a hard to find figurine made by Derby in the 18th century. It is of the court hairdresser and his client. Nicely modeled and hand painted perfectly. Quite typical for Derby of this period! The gentleman has his hair tied in the back and is wearing a long turquoise coat and a flowery waist coat. The lady is sitting on a chair and is wearing a floral dress while holding a mirror in her right hand. The base is typical for this period with some greery on it and his hat on the side. The tree trunk to the back side with a bit of a boccage to the top. The figure is in great condition with some damage and restoration to the tree top and leaves and the hairdresser's comb is broken off. The lady is holding something black in her left hand but the is msising mostly as well and I have no idea what it was. All in all in superb condition for the age and it displays nicely! The piece is 6.75 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 4.875 inches deep. The figurine is unmarked underneath the base except for the incised number 84 but it does have the usual patch marks as shown!
