Derby George Complin Plate

This is a great plate made by Derby around 1790. It is hand painted in the center with a scene including a superb basket filled with lots of different fruits, a gold ring around the well of the plate and another to the nicely shaped edge. A fairly minimalistic design but it looks amazing! Really brings out that center scene. The scene was painted by George Complin. and the gilding by the man with the famous 2 gilder's mark quite common to pieces of this period - Joseph Stables . The plate is in great condition with a bit of wear to the gold mostly and some use marks to the center but it displays very well! It is marked with the puce Derby mark as shown. It is 1.125 inches tall and 8.75 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
