Derby George Complin Plate

This is a great plate made by Derby around 1790. It is hand painted in the center with a scene including a superb basket filled with lots of different fruits, a gold ring around the well of the plate and another to the nicely shaped edge. A fairly minimalistic design but it looks amazing! Really brings out that center scene. The scene was painted by George Complin. and the gilding by the man with the famous 2 gilder's mark quite common to pieces of this period - Joseph Stables . The plate is in great condition with a bit of wear to the gold mostly and some use marks to the center but it displays very well! It is marked with the puce Derby mark as shown.
