Floral Sauce Dish w/ Underplate

This is a super sauce tureen with its underplate made by Derby around 1790. All three pieces are hand painted with some superb floral arrangements - one in the center of the lid under the twisted branch finial, two on the main sauce dish and another one in the center of the under plate. The quaility of the flowers is superb and that together with the light blue and gold trim make them look very elegant! The plate has a handle to either side and all pieces have some nice gold trim to them. Probably painted by one of their more famous painters - whoever used the number 4 as their painter's mark. The set is in great condition with just a minor touch of wearr to the gilding, a tiny firing crack to one of the inner parts of the handle with no place to go so it's not an issue, some minor firing impurities and a touch of wear to the flowers of the underplate. It's a great shape for a piece and they look amazing on display! The gravy boat and plate as each marked with the puce Derby mark and the number 219 as shown. The plate is 0.875 inches tall with the handle sticking up more, 9.125 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep. The sauciere is 5.75 inches tall including the finial, 8 inches wide and 4.375 inches deep.
