Early Lady Figurine

This is a figurine of a lady made by Derby in about 1756-60. The lady is very well modeled and quite beautifully painted especially her dress! She has what look to be apples in her apron and a basket of fruit on her left arm. Like I said the dress is painted with beautiful and high quality flowers and there are lots of molded flowers on the base and by the basket. The figurine is in amazing condition considering her age! The basket handle is a well done replacement, one loop of the bow on her right foot is restored, there is a shallow chip to her hat, the bow on top of her hat is restored, her pinky on her left hand is restored and there are one or two minor chips to the leaves and flowers but all in all these are all minor things. A firing crack in her left leg was overpainted during the making with puce flowers. She is unmarked underneath but that's common as well but does have three light patchmarks. The figurine is 9.5 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1499
