Large Britannia Figure

This is a large figurine representing Britannia made by Derby in the mid 18th century. This is the largest version being 14.5 inches tall and a very imposing yet elgant piece. The figure is of a lady dressed in warrior outfit holding her left hand on top of a shield with the globe to one side of her as well as a flag , the lion to her other side and some implements of war and peace to the top of the base including a cannon with the cannon balls, a swords, a wreath and two trumpets. The detail of this model is stunning down to the tiny face between her bosom, the detail on the globe and the face of the lion - just amazing. The figure is much more nicely modeled athan many versions I have come across and also larger. The figurine is in good condition but somehow aptly has some damage fitting with a warrior theme :) Her right arm was broken at the elbow and mended though this could be done better, the back of her helmet was redone, three fingers on her right hand are damaged, one trumpet ismissing its front half, the wreath has had work done to it, the tip of the flag and a bit of robe in the same area as the elbow have been worked on and a couple of minor issues including a chip to where the trumpet tip would be and a stress hairline in the back. Still the piece displays superbly and is in great condition given the size and age of the piece! She is unmarked underneath but that's common as well but does have the normal light patchmarks as shown. The figurine is 14.5 inches tall, 7.5 inches wide and 5.5 inches deep.
