Amazing Gilding / Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a really nice cup and saucer made by Derby in the early 19th century. Both pieces have some amazing fancy gilding to them including a neat snake design that turns into a scroll design but off course the best part is that each has a really nicely hand painted scene with a view that is named underneath. More gilding to the inside of the cup. The set is in terrific condition for its age with just some minor wear to the gold trim mainly to the very edges and some crazing to the glaze typical of these pieces but all in all they are in much better conditon than almost any I have seen before. Both pieces are marked with the red crown D mark as well as a 71 as the painter's or gilder's number. The name of the views are written in red underneath as well. The saucer has In Derbyshire on the saucer and Callander Bridge on the cup. The cup has At Allestry Derbyshire ( Allestree ) while the saucer has A cottage Gloucestershire .The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.625 inches in diameter. The cup is 2.625 inches tall and 3.25 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
