Del Vecchio Woodrim Plate #3

This is a rare plate made by DelVecchio around 1800. It is made of creamware and has a nice medallion in the center with a landscape scene in it that looks very much like the popular micro mosaics of earlier times. The scene is surrounded with a black line and then a gold colored double dot and line trim. The edge of the bowl also has a small design painted in the gold and then there is the superb rim design. Not sure if it was meant to look a bit like woodgrain or some type of stone. Gold trim and rope design to the edge. The plate is in OK condition with some crazing and a fairly nasty crack that split and goes two ways. It was stabilized with some glue by a previous owner. It is restorable and certainly a rare enough example to do that with. Certainly a must have learning example! It is marked underneath with the impressed FDV mark with the F being rather faint. The plate is 0.875 inches tall and 9.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
